I pay $17 for a 7lb refill (oddball tank) at my local scuba shop. If I had a normal 5lb tank, I could exchange it at my local Airgas for $10. I bought the 7lb from Beverage Elements for around $40 shipped ( I have 2 of them).
Seems like a straightforward process… The place that fills my 5lb bottles checks the stamped date on my bottles then hooks up a hose, puts my bottle on a scale, vents pressure from my bottle, then refill from their giant tank that has a dip tube.

Does anyone know where I can fill up a Co2 tank at an affordable cost? Just started kegging and got quoted $61 dollars to refill at 20lbs tank. Is this cost about right? Quote was from Gaspro on Oahu. Need help!
With a paintball refill “station” and a few small pb tanks you can fill them MANY times & they are super convenient for keeping in the fridge or taking to a party with your corny. Even a small 9-12 oz tank will dispense a full keg. Only thing not in this Amazon cart is $8-10 adaptor to attach pb tank to CGA320 regulator.
Some business types to check: LHBS, welding supply, fire extinguisher refill, paintball supply, hydroponic supply, aquarium supply. Price varies a lot by region. In my area, every place I checked was between $18-$25 but the guy I buy from says there is a hydroponic supply in L.A. that has 20# tanks for $7.99.
$60.89 NDNCZDHC CO2 Refill Adapter with Hose, CGA‑320 Cylinder Refill Adapter, Adapter Fill Station Connector Kit for Soda Filling for Tank Bottle (24 Inch-with Gauge) Lililink $33.98 jiingekk Small CO2 Regulator 0-150PSI Safe Brewing Accessory Kitchen Appliance Part For Home Brewing And Sodas Making Home Brewing Equipment Ljiingky $34.99
Next time you refill, you might try weighing the (completely empty) paintball CO2 cylinder both before and after filling. I believe they're only rater for 12 oz. or 20 oz., depending on the cylinder.
