I have a 2010 X5 and looking to install a remote start any suggestions? I called couple of dealer and all they could say is BMW does not recommend it and we cannot do it. Called couple of aftermarket shops that do remote starts and they don't want to touch it. Is it doable?

Both the X5 45e are built on BMW 4th Gen PHEV platform. As noted in newtis. And the car's are identical from a PHEV perspective with the difference being in battery capacity. I do think BMW is using the engine to heat the battery for a cold start and not a heater which is why it isn't mentioned in the technical document you posted.
I'm starting to love my X5, but do miss my remote start. It's been -20 for the past week. If you drive mostly highway, it's a waste, but if you daily commute, it's nice to have. That said the heated seats and heated steering wheel warm up almost instantly which is nice.
