The Battlegrounds does have P2W elements. HS was released under a gacha game model, which typically preys on human psychology by making players think that “if I spend money on the game, it will become more fun to play.”
Blizzard didn’t break any promises. China is allowed to alter the game to fit their market. As they have done with countless other games. D2R and D3 both have things in the Chinese version we can never get. Along with P2W elements. For that matter so does their version of WoW. Now if you would like to try and gain citizenship over in China and convince them not to do this, all I have to say ...
TLDR: It’s subjective, ill-defined, and the perception of a binary variable is overly simplistic. Saying WoW is P2W is like saying black pepper is spicy. While true, in a world with ghost peppers and 5-million-scoville extracts, saying it’s spicy doesn’t convey a lot of information. Similarly, WoW’s P2W elements aren’t comparable to how P2W many other games are. Let’s first define ...
Pay for win - well known approach I wouldn’t claim anything in this game as a P2W. Not even close to Diablo Immortal. But But But. I have to temper my perspective to the casual majority here. Before the game went F2P / P2W and was just a grindy Korean MMO with a focus on world PvP, I truly loved the game. It was possibly the best online gaming experience I’ve had in my life, and I remember how seemingly quickly that was ripped away as they moved away from the subscription model to F2P with a progression cash shop. Aion 2 looks a little weird in UE5, definitely kind of uncanny ...
Real World Money = in game gold = Pay to win Disassembling arguments… 1 - A. If you buy items from Auction house with gold you “earned in game” it is NOT pay to win. 1 - B. If you buy items from Auction House with gold you “bought with your credit card” it IS pay to win. 2 - A. If you buy a carry/win with gold you “earned in game” it is NOT pay to win. 2 - B. If you buy a carry ...
Technically not p2w, but pay to do 20% less work. and has alternatives. +15 Magic Find: Pretty obvious. If grinding rare drops, you get more. means pay to get more money. Lastly: The Cookie itself. Spend £2 to get roughly 1 mil; definition of irl trading. anyone who buys/sells booster cookie is an irl trader. Make purchased cookies consumed ...
