The sdi is the 600ho motor with fuel injection. So if you have ridden the 600ho then you wont notice much difference except the sdi will run alot better in all temps etc, and much much better mpg and smoother. I've owned many 600ho carbed, and many sdi's including an 08 sdi's and you should definitely pick the sdi over the carbed version.

The SDI also has "power valves" instead of the SD standard exhaust valves. The power valve is however still related to exhaust pressure and now a servo controls how much pressure and when the pressure gets to the bellows to pull the valve open.

IMO SDI would be well worth having for two reasons--lower operating cost due to beter gas mileage, and greater range due to better gas mileage. At 8 mpg my sled sucks down the gas and has a range of only about 80-90 miles.

Looking to buy a Mach Z 1000SDI, need opinions please!
06 Skidoo MachZ 1000 SDI X ,3,300 miles, has electric start, reverse, the x package , all new wear parts, picked 1 1/4 in ripsaw track, everything stock and all updates are done, full skid plates First off, what should I look to offer him? It is part of a package deal and he is willing to split.

600 E-Tec vs 600 HO SDI - Hardcore Sledder
The sdi was the most technologically advanced 600 until the e-tec came out. On the dyno the sdi has more power, but in the sleds the e-tecs seem to pull harder side by side.

A friend of mine has a 2005 mxzx 600sdi that will not start, the sled has no power to anything on it, it will not light up the gauges either with the E start or pulling it. I have check all the fuses and replaced both relays already on it, checked to make sure all the neccesary plugs are plugged...

500SS vs. 600HO&600SDI Mileage? - Hardcore Sledder
The 4 600 sdi's got the best mileage and the 3 500ss's were within a few litres every fill up but never better than the sdi's. The 1000 sdi was getting better mileage than both 600HO's.
