Out of tune suddenlyHi, i've got mine today and it came totally detuned out of the box. I calibrated the voices, and it was ok for for around 20 minutes or so, then it suddenly became totally detuned again, just while changing patches only. It could have worried me but fortunately i already own a Prophet 6 and an OB 6 and am therefore accustomed to the tuning table quirks of Sequential VCO ...
The Prophet-6 stands firmly on classic Sequential Prophet ground, having the same rich character. Some have described it as darker and warmer than the OB-6, and that seems accurate. The OB-6 has a brighter fizzier quality, which is very distinctive, but it seems difficult to get away from this character created by those "leaking" upper frequencies.
After a few weeks away, decided to switch on my synth rack and Prophet X attempts to boot but ends up on a screen stating 'Cannot reach audio processor'. Known issue or anyone experienced this also?
I’m a huge fan of what Sequential has done with the Prophet X. Turning samples into fodder for synthesis with the immediacy of a classic knobby, subtractive synthesizer? Brilliantly done. I just wouldn’t think of it as a replacement for a classic sampler or workstation, nor really for a traditional analog synth.
