CJ McCollum scored 27 points and steadied the Wizards after they nearly blew a 26-point lead as Washington held on for a 120-112 victory over the Orlando Magic.

The Magic defeated the Indiana Pacers 135-127 on Sunday, improving to 12-5 in Central Florida. They trailed by eight points after the first 12 minutes, but outscored the Pacers 41-22 in the second quarter and led for most of the remainder of the game.

The Orlando Magic are on the road on Tuesday night as they travel to take on the Washington Wizards in an Eastern Conference matchup. Orlando enters Tuesday’s game with a 20-16 record after defeating the Indiana Pacers at home on Sunday.

Halfway through the third quarter, it looked like the Wizards would coast to a blowout win over the Orlando Magic. They were up 26, the Magic kept bricking shots, fouling, and throwing the ball away,

The two teams play for the second time this season. The Magic defeated the Wizards 125-94 in their last matchup on Nov. 1. Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 28 points, and Kyshawn George led the Wizards with 17 points.

“It was needed,” Carrington told The Athletic. “It was necessary. But at the end of it, we all looked each other in the eyes as men and said, ‘What we’re showing the world ain’t us, and it’s literally up to the guys in this room to change it.’ And I feel like we’ve moved accordingly, for sure, after that conversation.
