It’s time women stop proving ourselves at work and saving everyone else at our own expense. You are valuable for who you are. Nothing to prove. Saving others and being the go-to feels good, yet it actually hurts your effectiveness and reputation. No one taught us how to stop working hard and start influencing how the work gets done. It took a hard lesson for me to learn this myself. I walked away from my lucrative executive career to go live on an island. Until I realized it was a huge mistake.
